Saturday was a beautiful day! Everyone sat outside and enjoyed the day. We were sitting out by the water but several people commented that they were getting sunburned so we moved under the awning on my motorhome. We even brought our dogs to socialize too.

After dinner we had a beautiful sunset then it started to get cold. Paul & Beverly invited us in to sit by their fireplace. Carolyn WAS sitting on the sofa but Scout decided he wanted to be up there so Carolyn moved over by her husband, Ralph (it was that or sit there with a dog in her lap).

Paul & Beverly Montgomery were the hosts of this rally and they provided chili and fixins' for dinner on Friday. You can see that we enjoyed the food and fellowship.

March 26 - 28, 2010
This is a GREAT park! I had never been here before this past weekend but I plan to go there again. The sites are concrete with full hook-ups and yes, that is water behind my site. It was very clean and well-maintained. The only concern I had was the location of the office and the restrooms - they are upstairs! In the third picture you see a building in the background - that is the office/laundry/restrooms. I sure am glad I have a nice shower in my motorhome!
I have been having a problem with a fuse blowing in the motorhome and this weekend was no exception. I had a new fuse put in before I left and it blew before I even got to the Beltway. More problems - on Saturday I noticed a puddle of something wet under the front of the motorhome. Fortunately I saw my neighbor, Tracy heading for the auto shop so I asked him to bring oil and transmission fluid back.

Chef Raymond cooked burgers for us after the rain stopped. We all enjoyed a nice potluck dinner in Ray & Annette's trailer then went to Ron & Ellen's trailer for a good game of Mexican Train Dominoes.

Due to the impending bad weather we had only 5 rigs there but we had a good time. My fuses blew out again but Ron & Raymond worked on it for me and replaced the fuses. This picture shows 3 of the 5 rigs as viewed from my campsite.

Another good weekend in Brazos Bend State Park. Friday was nice but Saturday brought rain and cold weather. This is March - winter is supposed to be over!

St. Patrick's Day pot luck

Ever seen green meat? Look closely at the ribs. We had a "green" theme for our potluck dinner on Saturday night.

Brazos Bend 3/12 - 3/14, 2010

We had very nice, spacious campsites and an awesome fire going all weekend.

Brazos Bend SP with Camping Friends

Since they revamped the sites at Brazos Bend State Park they are excellent. The weather this weekend was absolutely perfect. Everything was great except the operating of my vehicle. I arrived at the park with no problems. I parked and went into the Ranger Station to pay. When I came out the motorhome would not shift out of "Park". Jim & Kathi drove up behind me and Jim came over to help me get moving (out of his way). He told me to turn the key one turn and see if I could shift into "Neutral" and start it. That worked and I was able to drive to the campsite. Every time it shifted the vehicle jumped so I thought the transmission had gone out. I was able to shift it into "Reverse" to get into the campsite so I was set for the weekend. My friend Dianne showed up with her grandkids and I unlocked the door to let the dogs out to play with them. My keys totally disappeared after that. Was this the start to a jinxed weekend?
I finally found my keys on Sunday, about an hour before time to leave. Thanks to Janice for following me home and making sure I got there safely. Tom called a friend who had an auto shop and I took it in only to find out that I had two blown fuses. All is well, finally.

Thousand Trails of Texas FMCA Rally/Colorado River

This was our last meal together and announcements before we head home or to our next destination. The food was fantastic - I think we ate all weekend. ;-) Great rally!!!

Rally activities

We played games - Mexican Train dominoes, Pegs & Jokers, and a new game called Fast Track. We filled two rooms full of games players.

Ice cream social and prize drawing

FMCA Thousand Trails of Texas business meeting

I think we had 27 rigs in attendance. We had several new members and a few more who joined there. Our club is growing!

FMCA Rally at TT Colorado River - March 2010

GREAT campsite!!! I had a big shade tree and the deer came to visit every evening around 6:00 PM. There were 15 deer there one day because the people next door were feeding them.
