Most people left on Monday but I had planned to stay over until Tuesday. I had a very good time sitting out Monday night talking to friends Jay & Stella and Tommy & Susan who also stayed over.
The next day I planned to leave before noon but I woke up in the middle of the night to rain. Fortunately I had hooked up my car and put everything away outside. The rain continued to pour down and my dogs will not go out in the rain...... so we waited. There was a 3-4" deep "lake" surrounding my motorhome. Finally the rain took a break and I hurried the dogs out and unplugged the electric cord, ready to leave. Then nothing......the motorhome wouldn't start. By this time it was pouring again. I called AAA and they said they would send someone. After an hour I called the park office because I could not leave by check out time. Finally AAA arrived and was able to jump start the motorhome. I headed to WalMart to find out why my battery had gone dead.
The battery was less than one year old. WalMart wanted to take 1.5 hrs. to charge it and I told them I didn't have that much time. They ended up giving me a new battery under the warranty so I could finally get on my way to meet my friend in Austin.
I went to McKinney Falls State Park in Austin to meet my friend, Alan. I delivered things he had left in the motorhome on our trip to Arizona and he brought some acrylic wine glasses I had asked him to get for me. We had a nice dinner at Red Lobster and it was pouring rain again when he brought me back to the campground.
The next day I left for another rally at Thousand Trails Lake Whitney.
