It has been a LONG time since I have posted. Between a new computer and other circumstances, I just didn't get around to posting. I have decided to start posting again so I have a record of where I have been. I updated my photo with the motorhome I bought last year. Right now it is August and I am home hiding out from the heat. My next trip will be Labor Day. Look for more adventures coming soon!

Lake Somerville - January 2011
The Camping Friends group had a great weekend at Lake Somerville State Park. Friday night we gathered by the fire to visit and catch up with each other. Saturday morning started with a potluck breakfast. Some played poker (I think) in the afternoon. I brought a new game (Fast Track) but never could get anyone to play with me. The weather was nice and the afternoon was enjoyable. Already time to eat again? We had a big potluck dinner with some fantastic food.

TT of TX rally at Lake Conroe - Jan. 2011
My campsite at Thousand Trails Lake Conroe. I went back home and got the Explorer because, as Wagonmaster of the rally, I had a lot of things to haul around.

Christmas 2010
Christmas Eve I sang in the church choir and then went out to dinner with my friend Paul.
Christmas was a quiet day at home this year. My daughter got me a new laptop computer just before Christmas and I have really been enjoying that. Because of antenna issues in my motorhome I finally gave in and got DirectTV (installed Christmas Eve) so we each took a sofa and curled up under our blankets to watch movies. We had a great dinner - turkey (thanks, Boston Market) and lots of side dishes that we made. It was a quiet but good day for me, my daughter Christina, and the dogs.

Parents Without Partners campout at Spring Creek Park
We had a nice weekend with warm weather for a campout in this beautiful park. The RV sites were on one side of the road and the tent sites were across the street. The tent sites had a large firepit, several trash barrels, concrete picnic tables, and a couple of charcoal grills. The clean restrooms were next to the tent area. The park was well-maintained and patrolled by Precinct 4 employees. They lock the gates at 10:00 at night for security.
